From starting out in 1986 as a one-division and one-woman enterprise headed by Linda Mahoney, Better Homes has come a long way. Linda's determination and vision to make buying, renting, and selling property an enjoyable and easy experience has seen the company expand into numerous divisions, both locally and internationally.

Today, Better Homes employs more than 700 people under the able leadership of Linda, her son Ryan Mahoney - our Managing Director and Billy Rautenbach, our Director of Operations.

Linda Mahoney
CEO and Founder

Since starting the company from home in 1986, Linda has successfully shaped Better Homes into the number one real estate company in the Middle East. Growing up in Montreal, Linda, a registered nurse, lived in California for 7 years. In 1981, she came to Dubai to set up a healthcare clinic before deciding to venture into the world of real estate. 

Through her 20 years experience, Linda has become one of the chief commentators on the industry and is a founding member of the Dubai Property Group.

Ryan Mahoney
Managing Director

Ryan Mahoney has been leading Better Homes through the most dramatic growth of the company’s history. Having started out as a sales consultant, Ryan has seen the real estate market evolve to where it is now and pioneered the introduction of numerous industry-first services and initiatives such as training, technology, marketing, and quality assurance. Often credited for re-inventing the real estate franchising model, Ryan is currently driving the company’s progressive international expansion plan which has seen the formation of offices in the GCC and in India.

In addition to managing over 700 real estate professionals, Ryan has founded and currently manages a group of real estate companies that cater to a wide range of services from Sales to IT to Investment.

Billy Rautenbach
Director of Operations

Previously the Director of Sales, Billy Rautenbach has led the operational structuring and management of the sales team to year-on-year record highs.

South African raised Billy is a qualified real estate consultant and has over 20 years experience in the industry, including a two-year stint with Dubai Festival City. Prior to her arrival in Dubai, she had held senior managerial and sales positions in Pretoria and Johannesburg, South Africa.
