Living There

The year-round sunshine, relaxed lifestyles, and low cost of living make Spain a favorite destination for people from the rest of Europe and other parts of the world. Job opportunities are also growing, inviting more people to make Spain their home. The climate is extremely diverse, with sunny skies year-round, although the North coast is very rainy. The South has smooth temperatures during the winter.

Economy

The country's economy has been credited with creating more than half of all the new jobs in the European Union over the past five years. It has been regarded lately as one of the most dynamic within the EU, attracting significant amounts of foreign investment. The largest revenue grosser for the economy has been the tourism industry which has grown to become the second biggest in the world.

Politics

Spain is a constitutional monarchy with a hereditary monarch and a bicameral parliament. The executive branch consists of a Council of Ministers presided over by the President of Government, proposed by the monarch, and elected by the National Assembly following legislative elections.
