About Oman

Home > About Oman
Oman, officially the Sultanate of Oman, is a spellbinding land. Known as the ‘Norway of Arabia’ Oman is bordered with the UAE to the north-west, Yemen to the south-west and Saudi Arabia to the west. Its landscape varies dramatically and is a unique country within the Middle East, with lush green lands to the south in the Dhofar region, vast desert plains of the ‘empty quarter’, to the barren fjords of Musandam.

It features stunning wadis and mountains as well as green plains and sandy rock deserts. Some of the scenery will simply take your breath away.

Oman is today also one of the most economically, politically and socially progressive and developed countries of the Arab World. Efforts to diversify its economy and reduce reliance on oil are ongoing and have been very successful, resulting in several thriving sectors such as tourism, hospitality and real estate development.

Women should wear for example, tops with sleeves covering their shoulders and long skirts or trousers covering their knees. Men should wear trousers or long shorts and shirts or T-shirts with sleeves. Swimwear and beachwear should be restricted to beaches or pools.

Standard of living: Oman offers residents affordable and good standards of living and has a large expatriate population. As its national and expatriate population grows and tourist influx increases, international interest in Oman is rising steadily, making the country extremely desirable to foreign investors. The tax-free environment, progressive laws and increasing global presence have made the region an investor-friendly destination.
