About Saudi Arabia

Home > About Saudi Arabia

The largest Arab country in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia is sometimes also called "The Land of the Two Holy Mosques’. Madain Saleh, referred to as Saudi Arabia’s Petra, is amongst the most magical sites of the Middle East. The Empty Quarter, the largest sea of sand on the planet, is home to dunes the size of ships. On the coast, Jeddah is home to colourful souqs and lovely coral houses. Mist covered mountains, fragrant juniper forests, freezing desert temperatures (in winter) and its rich coral reefs make Saudi Arabia make the country an emblem of everything about the Arabian world that’s mystical and enchanting.

The country remains a leading producer of oil and natural gas and holds more than 20% of the world’s proven oil reserves. Today, Saudi Arabia is in the midst of a property boom. Riyadh, the capital and Mecca, the most sacred city in Islam, have experienced the highest house price increases. Investments from neighboring Gulf States and liberalisation of real property laws have added to the boom in Saudi’s real estate market. With the present low home ownership levels and a rising number of young middle-class Saudis, strong housing demand is expected to continue. The rental market is also becoming attractive to investors because of the high rental yields.
