Located on the western side of the Dubai creek and once a quiet stretch of sand, Bur Dubai is today a thriving residential and commercial area with its numerous shopping malls, hotel chains and high-rise residences. The Bur Dubai district comprises areas, such as, Karama, Oud Metha, Umm Hurair, Zabeel and Culture Village. The latter is a development that blends Middle Eastern history and the rich heritage of Dubai with modern day living to offer a lifestyle that incorporates the finest in modernity and old world charm.

While Karama, with its numerous four and five storey residential buildings is the most populous residential area in Dubai, Zabeel located in the vicinity and chiefly comprising Zabeel 1 and Zabeel 2 areas offers more affluent residential units like villas and town homes.
