Comprised of industrial landmarks like the world’s largest man-made harbor and residential landmarks like the Trellis District, Jebel Ali is a city in itself and one of the most dynamic and strategically significant regions in Dubai.
Downtown Jebel Ali and the Jebel Ali area are the main areas to focus on in this district. Jebel Ali today has moved on from being a crucial port town to one of the most sought after areas to live in the city. It is in the forefront of major developments, including the Dubai World Central Airport (Al Maktoum International Airport), which on completion will become the world’s largest passenger and cargo hub. Expected to be the heart of New Dubai, Downtown Jebel Ali will occupy an 11 kilometre stretch on Sheikh Zayed Road between the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai Waterfront, and Techno Park. It will be the gateway to Dubai's new international airport and its surrounding developments. Offering a vibrant lifestyle, the development will consist of four quarters, with each quarter divided into three individual districts. The modern and buzzing Urban Centre, will house distinctive modern towers and a huge variety of cafes, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. The commercial and social hub of each quarter, the Trellis District, has a unique network of trellises projecting from the buildings, offering a pedestrian-friendly environment. Finally, the Medina District offers a relaxing atmosphere with its mid to low-rise residential neighbourhoods, small courtyards and plazas. Map of Jebel Ali District
