This district focuses exclusively on The Palm Deira, the largest of the three Palm Islands, located in the coastal area of Deira.

The largest of the three Palm Islands, Palm Deira on completion will cover an area greater than the city of Paris. Featuring 8,000 two-storey houses, villas, and town homes, it is a thriving city in itself offering world class island living. This unique man-made palm-shaped island will consist of a trunk, a crown with 41 fronds, and a surrounding crescent island that will form a water breaker. Launched in November 2004, it is expected to cover 14 kms in length and 8.5 kms in width and will be built on an area of about 860 million sq. ft. The island will consist of residential property, marinas, shopping malls, sports facilities, clubs, and hospitality offerings. It is expected to be completed by 2015.
