Shaped in a giant crescent, the Waterfront District features everything from white sandy beaches to an entirely new city twice the size of Hong Kong. Also included is the incredible Palm Jebel Ali,offering the world’s most exotic water homes.
A conglomeration of canals and artificial islands, Waterfront is shaped in an arc and will produce a shelter around the Palm Jebel Ali by featuring a 75 kilometre Arabian canal that will run from the coast into the desert and a major harbour. Aside from this, it will offer a range of residences, commercial districts and industrial areas, major tourist attractions, and leisure amenities. One key area, the Madinat Al Arab, has been developed by an international and world class team of architects and planners and will feature resorts, retail, commercial spaces, public spaces, and a broad mix of residencies. It will also have an integrated transport system including light rail and a road network. Encircled by the Waterfront district, the Palm Jebel Ali, the middle-sized island of the Palm trilogy, will consist of a trunk, a crown with 17 fronds, and a surrounding crescent island that will form a water breaker. This development, which is in the final phases of completion, promises to be one of the most luxurious residential retreats, including ‘water homes’ built on stilts between the fronds and the crescent. The Palm Jebel Ali will also cater to residents and tourists as an entertainment destination. It is 50% larger than the Palm Jumeirah and will include six marinas and 'Sea Village', a water themed park. Map of Waterfront District
