As Ramadan draws to a finish, we take a look at how we tried to #BeBetter during the Holy month.

It is difficult to run to imagine the Holy month has come to finish so quickly. This year, we tried to remind ourselves to #BeBetter, by posting an idea for a random act of kindness for inspiration and we tried to do them ourselves. We were genuinely impressed by the response we got from our Facebook fans, but more on that later.

#BeBetter charity drives: We are so proud of our many agents who went out to construction sites, mosques, parking lots to distribute care packages, meals and snacks to the less fortunate. Though our staff took on various challenges, here are a few high lights:

Kicking off first day of Ramadan, our team at the Jumeirah Lake Towers office went to a construction site in Cluster W at the Jumeirah lake Towers (JLT) to distribute care packages which contained sugar, box of tea bags, rainbow milk, biscuits, 1 kilogram of rice, a bottle of oil, tuna, noodles and soap.

Donning hairnets in the kitchen of the mosque, the Better Homes staff from the Head Office packed 150 packages, each containing: half a kilogram of chicken biryani, 10 slices of water melon, 7 dates, half a kilogram of yogurt, laban, a packet of biscuits and a bottle of water. With the help of the Mosque’s Imam, Mohammed, the staff arranged the Iftar packs in a special tent to be distributed to anyone after the prayers.

Our staff from our Business Bay office distributed over 300 meals to the house keeping and security staff from Idama at the Bay Avenue Community. In addition, our staff at the JBR office distributed special care packages to the workers from Khansaheb who are working on a development called The Beach at JBR.
