Palm Jumeirah is a world-famous manmade archipelago in the shape of a palm tree, and the world’s largest man-made island, has 4,000 luxury apartments and villas, a range of contemporary hotels, restaurants and some of the Dubai’s most famous views.

It’s also home to the iconic Atlantis Hotel. Visitors come to the Palm for its beauty but stay for its plethora of lifestyle and residential attractions that range from waterfront apartments to expansive Palm Jumeirah villas and mansions with their own private beach. Think of it as a picturesque town with pristine homes and green space.

With residential fronds branching out from a thick trunk and a crescent embankment that crowns the island on three sides. It’s known the world over for its unique design, beachfront living, and unrivalled first-class facilities. Palm Jumeirah is a beautiful place to live and the private beaches and premier facilities make you feel like you’re living in a holiday resort. Some areas like Shoreline have amenities close by, including grocery stores and restaurants. If you live on the far side of the island, such amenities are a short drive away rather than within walking distance. Palm Jumeirah is renowned for its amazing five-star hotels and fine dining, especially at One & Only, located on the western side of Crescent Road. Next door, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is another great option, with an infinity pool, palatial spa and restaurants. Of course, there’s Atlantis The Palm at the head of the trunk, which is a world-famous resort and a favourite with families. Here, they can enjoy fun days out at Aquaventure waterpark, The Lost Chambers aquarium and swimming with dolphins, plus many premier restaurants, including Nobu. On the east side of Crescent Road, you’ll find Sofitels’ luxury apartments and hotel resort, and Anantara’s resort and spa, which claims to have the best spa facilities in the city.

Your living options

Due to its status as an iconic and exclusive residential island, most of the developments are built with great quality finishes and facilities, including state-of- the-art gyms, swimming pools and lazy rivers plus access to spas, beaches and fine dining at nearby hotels. The trunk is home to apartment towers, low-rise buildings and hotel apartments while the fronds cater to exclusive villas with private beaches. Two notable residences on the trunk are the Oceana and Tiara Residences, boasting high-quality, spacious apartments with good views, great restaurants, excellent gyms, a lazy river around each complex, infinity pools and a private beach. You’ll find one, two, and three bedroom apartments plus four bedroom penthouses that initially sold shell and core. Shoreline Apartments was one of the first buildings to hand over on The Palm by Nakheel. While the quality is quite basic, the properties are spacious, between 800 sq. ft. up to 1,200 sq. ft., and residents have access to a private beach. You’ll find between one and three bedrooms, plus four bedroom penthouses. Fairmont The Palm is another popular choice where residents can take advantage of the hotel, three swimming pools and a stunning stretch of beach. The homes on The Palm’s fronds are the only villas in Dubai with private beaches. The further along the frond you live, the higher the sale price is because the expanse of sea – and therefore greater privacy. There are over 150 villas on each frond and there are two types of property, Garden Homes and Signature Villas, with between four and six bedrooms. Homeowners can extend and remodel the Signature Villas, which gives them a degree of freedom and diversity. On Frond N, homeowners have the opportunity to buy a plot and build a villa according to their own design, within reason.

It is not currently linked to Dubai Metro on the mainland although there are plans to connect to Dubai Internet City Metro station in the future. While vacant RTA taxis can be hard to find at times, many private taxis are present at the hotels, spas and beach resorts. Water taxis are a quick way to access the fronds and Crescent, and routes include Al Sufouh Road to Sofitel Dubai, or Dubai Marina to the One & Only Resort.
