Let’s start with some good news…

Now restrictions have been eased in Dubai, you can ditch the oven gloves and head out for a meal. Restaurants and cafés can now operate normally (although don’t expect a buffet or shisha services), with protective health and safety measures in place in line with government guidelines. For those looking to dip a toe back into the world of dining out, Jumeirah Group has re-opened three of its signature restaurants at Jumeirah Al Naseem and Jumeirah Mina A’Salam. Peruvian-Nikkei restaurant KAYTO is offering an à la carte dinner service from 6pm onwards, while Mediterranean seafood restaurant Rockfish is serving lunch from 12.30-3.30pm and dinner from 5pm onwards, and you can lap up Greek food with a side of sea views at Shimmers, which is open daily  from noon.

If you’ve been meaning to try Yin Yoga or are desperately in need of some stress-relief yoga, we’ve found just the thing. NYU Abu Dhabi Athletics is posting weekly virtual yoga and meditation classes every Thursday, at 8am GST. Led by NYUAD Physical Education Instructor Miriam Maher, the pre-recorded classes are available via the official Instagram account and YouTube channels.

Cook like a pro

We’re feeling healthy today and have turned to chef Louie Mallorca at FIKA, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, for this simple and scrummy superfood salad recipe.

Serves: 1
Ingredients (for 4):
a. A thumb of ginger, finely grated 
b. 1 clove garlic, finely minced 
c. 2 medium carrots, grated 
d. 2/3 cup beetroot, grated 
e. 2 kale leaves, chopped (no stalk) 
f. 1 stick celery, chopped 
g. ½ avocado, sliced 
h. 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 
i. 2 tbsp lemon juice 
j. Salt & pepper, to taste 

Method:
1. Make the salad dressing by mixing the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper 
2. Combine all other ingredients in a bowl 
3. Add the salad dressing and toss to coat all ingredients 
4. Serve
