Damac Hills community update: August 2026
August brought Damac Hills the thing residents had actually been waiting for: a real dent in the area's traffic problem. The RTA delivered a new bridge on the Al Qudra Road corridor right on schedule, while the rest of the month was quiet on the openings and events front.

New Openings: Cafés, restaurants, gyms & amenities
There were no new café, restaurant, gym or amenity openings specifically within Damac Hills this July. DAMAC Mall, which opened in 2023 and houses around 40 retail outlets and 10 F&B venues alongside a Spinneys and a Fitness First, remains the community's main day-to-day retail and dining hub.
Community events & social gatherings
August was a quiet month on the events front, especially by comparison. July had plenty going on, with FIFA World Cup 2026 turning FireLake Grill at Radisson Hotel Dubai DAMAC Hills into one of the community's busiest match-day spots right up until the tournament wrapped on 19 July.
Construction, infrastructure & new facilities
On 9 August, the RTA opened a new 700-metre, four-lane bridge at the intersection of Al Qudra Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, the mirror-image counterpart to the bridge opened on the opposite side back in February. Together, the two bridges complete the main traffic configuration at this intersection, part of the wider Al Qudra Road Development Project that RTA says directly serves DAMAC Hills alongside Arabian Ranches 1 and 2, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City, Akoya, Mudon and The Sustainable City.
Resident Sentiment: Complaints & celebrations
Paid parking remains the community's most persistent friction point. Parkin's metered parking, introduced across Damac Hills in May 2026 (AED2 for 30 minutes up to AED16 for four hours, Monday to Saturday 8am - 10pm) plus a 5% VAT added to all Parkin fees UAE-wide from 1 June, appears to still be in effect with no evidence of rollback or adjustment. On the celebration side, the Al Qudra Road bridge opening is the clearest reason for residents to be pleased this month — RTA is framing it explicitly as congestion relief for the communities it serves, DAMAC Hills included.
New project launches & off-plan activity
July was the more eventful month here: on 9 July, DAMAC Properties announced the handover of 8,800 residential units across Dubai in 2026, with handovers explicitly spanning DAMAC Hills, DAMAC Hills 2, DAMAC Lagoons, Chic Tower and Elegance Tower, alongside more than AED 10 billion in construction contracts awarded during the first half of 2026. August, by contrast, brought no new project launch or off-plan announcement specific to Damac Hills.
Biggest highlight of the month
One of the most significant updates for Damac Hills this month was the opening of the new Al Qudra Road bridge on 9 August. The project delivers a long-awaited improvement to connectivity in the area, with the RTA reporting an 85% reduction in waiting times at the intersection. For residents, this should mean smoother access to and from the community, particularly during peak travel periods.
