Business Bay doesn't do quiet months. This one's been busier than most: new restaurants opening on the canal, another chunk of the RTA's biggest infrastructure project ticked off, and a run of commercial launches putting the district at the centre of Dubai's property story. Here's everything worth knowing from the neighbourhood this July 2026.
New cafés, restaurants, gyms and amenities
Cocina Tres has opened at Pullman Dubai Downtown, bringing coastal Mexican cooking to the neighbourhood. Think wood-fired grills, share plates built for a table of six, and tortillas made by hand in the Oaxacan tradition. It's the kind of opening that gives Business Bay's Sheikh Zayed Road stretch a genuine weekend destination feel, and not just a lunch spot for the office crowd.
LOOP has opened its doors at Trillionaire Residences by Binghatti. It's a 24-hour Mediterranean dining and lounge concept, built around canal views, a specialty coffee programme by day, and shisha terraces that run into the small hours. For a community that's long been short on late-night, sit-outside options, LOOP fills a real gap.
And for anyone missing the fairway, Five Iron Golf's second Dubai venue is now running at DAMAC Towers by Paramount. It's an indoor golf and entertainment concept: simulator bays for casual rounds, private suites for corporate bookings, and a bar menu built for groups. It's the kind of amenity that speaks to who's actually living and working in Business Bay now, young professionals looking for something to do after 6pm that isn't another rooftop bar.
Community events and social gatherings
July 2026's line-up is mostly networking dinners and property events. The Emaar Dubai Property Event runs on 13 July 2026 at Holiday Inn Business Bay, giving buyers and investors a look at the developer's upcoming inventory. Two days later, on 15 July 2026, a Dubai Investors Dinner brings B2B networking to the Ritz-Carlton, and on 20 July 2026, a Big Business, Tech & Entrepreneur soirée takes over Belgian Beer Café, the kind of low-key, high-value networking that Business Bay's professional crowd shows up for.
Layer on top of that Dubai Summer Surprises, running citywide through malls and hotels until 30 August 2026, and residents have had no shortage of reasons to be out and about this month, even with the heat.
Construction updates, new towers and infrastructure
Traffic is still the biggest complaint in Business Bay, especially the evening jam getting out of towers like Prism, Regal and One by Omniyat onto roads that just can't handle the volume.
The RTA's Sheikh Rashid Corridor project is starting to help. Two new bridges, connecting Al Asayel Street and Al Wasl Club Street to Business Bay Crossing, are now open, taking the overall project to 72% complete as of March 2026.
On the tower front, several of the district's biggest projects are tracking toward their promised dates. Binghatti, Omniyat, Al Habtoor and DAMAC are among the developers shaping this skyline. Binghatti Skyrise, overlooking the Dubai Water Canal, is on course for a Q4 (October-December) 2026 handover, and Binghatti Skyhall is expected to follow in Q3 (July-September) 2026. Al Habtoor Tower has topped out at 86 floors, with the first of its 1,740 apartments due for handover this summer 2026 and the rest following by late 2026, a visible reminder that the skyline here is still very much under construction.
What residents are saying
Residents have a common reservation this time round as well: exit congestion, especially between 6pm and 8pm. The celebration is just as consistent, though. They feel positive about the growing café and dining scene, better walkability along the canal, and a general sense that Business Bay is shedding its old "office district" reputation for something that actually feels lived-in after hours. New openings like Cocina Tres and LOOP are exactly the kind of thing driving that shift.
New project launches and off-plan announcements
Business Bay's commercial story keeps building, with two announcements adding to the momentum in recent months.
LUMENA ALTA by Omniyat is set to become Business Bay's tallest commercial tower on completion, a launch that also marks the developer's 20th year in Dubai. SAMANA Developers added to the district's momentum too, opening a new sales gallery at its headquarters in Bay Square, Business Bay, in May 2026, part of a busy year for off-plan projects in Dubai.
Peninsula Four is scheduled to be handed over next month, marking another significant milestone in the development of the Peninsula community. With Peninsula Two and Jumeirah Living already fully handed over and welcoming residents, the community continues to evolve into a vibrant and established destination. As more phases are completed, residents will benefit from a growing range of amenities, enhanced connectivity, and an increasingly lively neighborhood, further strengthening Peninsula's appeal as a premier waterfront lifestyle destination.
Spotlight: The Peninsula community
Peninsula is Select Group's waterfront master community within Business Bay, the district's first development built specifically around community life rather than just towers and offices. Spread across 3.3 million square feet of canal-front land, it brings together six residential towers, waterfront podiums, commercial units, and a standalone Grade A office tower, 3,300 homes in total across seven developments. Its anchor tower, Jumeirah Living Business Bay, is a 35-storey, 82-residence collaboration with Jumeirah Group that reached full construction completion in December 2025.
Select Group confirmed in 2025 that it had fully sold out Peninsula's off-plan units, a project with a combined value of roughly AED 7 billion. The community's retail core includes a 66,000 sq ft mall and The Plaza, a 17,000 sq ft waterfront marketplace with restaurants and cafés overlooking the canal, alongside tennis and padel courts, running tracks, a skate park, and family play areas. It's this lifestyle layer, not any single tower, that's steadily pulling Business Bay's reputation away from "office district" toward somewhere people actually want to live.
